Preparing for Your Visit

Yes, We proudly offer bulk billing on a wide range of Medicare-eligible examinations for eligible patients, including pensioners and health care card holders. Some patients and some highly specialised scans or interventional procedures will incur an out-of-pocket fee.

Because billing depends on both your referral and your individual circumstances, we encourage you to contact our team before your visit or simply ask our reception staff on the day. We'll always provide a transparent fee estimate based on your specific referral, so there are never any financial surprises.

Do you Bulk Bill?

Absolutely. You have the right to choose where you receive your medical imaging. We proudly accept all valid referrals—even if your doctor has printed your request on another clinic’s form or letterhead.

Do you accept other referrals?

While most specialised scans (like Ultrasounds or CTs) require an appointment and specific preparation, general X-rays do not require a booking.

Simply walk into our clinic with your valid referral, and our team will look after you.

Do I need an appointment?

We bulk bill wherever possible. However, some scans and interventional procedures aren't fully covered by Medicare and may incur an out-of-pocket gap fee.

If a fee applies to your scan, our team will explain it clearly when you book, so there are never any surprises on the day.

Will there be a gap fee for my scan?

For private patients or examinations that attract a gap fee, we strive to keep our costs as transparent and accessible as possible.

Payment Methods: We accept all major EFTPOS, Visa, and Mastercard payments on the day of your appointment.

Instant Medicare Rebates: If you pay an upfront fee for a Medicare-eligible scan, our reception team can securely lodge your claim on the spot. This means your Medicare rebate will be deposited directly back into your registered bank account, often within 24 hours.

Payments & General Fees

We proudly support our veteran community. Core Radiology accepts all DVA referrals for eligible Gold Card and White Card holders. We bill DVA directly for all approved medical imaging services, ensuring a completely frictionless and zero-cost experience for our veterans. Simply present your DVA card and valid referral to our friendly front desk team upon arrival.

Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA)

You do not need a Medicare card to receive exceptional, humanised care at Core Radiology. We warmly welcome international students, overseas visitors, and patients without Medicare coverage.

Because we cannot bill Medicare for your scan, you will need to pay the private fee for your examination on the day of your appointment. Following your payment, we will provide you with a detailed, itemised receipt. You can then submit this receipt directly to your Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), travel insurance, or private health provider to claim your eligible rebate.
