About Having a Dental Scan including an OPG

A specialisedv panoramic X-ray that provides a comprehensive, ear-to-ear view of your upper and lower jaws, teeth, and surrounding facial bones in a single image.

What is a Dental OPG?


You will stand still and rest your chin on a small ledge. The X-ray machine will gently rotate in a half-circle around your head for a few seconds to capture the image.

How is it performed?

How long does it take?

The scan takes just a few seconds, and the total appointment is under 10 minutes.



You will be asked to remove any glasses, hearing aids, facial piercings, hair clips, or removable dentures prior to the scan to ensure the image is perfectly clear.
