Your privacy, in plain language
When you have a scan with us, you trust us with some of your most personal information. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect, where it goes, and the choices you have.
-
What we collect: your contact and Medicare details, your referral, your images and our radiologists' reports, plus safety information like pregnancy status and allergies.
Why: to perform your scan safely, report it accurately, get the results to the doctor looking after you, and bill correctly.
Who sees it: your referring doctor, our clinical team, and your My Health Record unless you opt out. We never sell your information or give it to marketers.
AI: technology tools, including AI, may help highlight findings or prioritise urgent cases, but every report is written and approved by a specialist radiologist. We do not allow your identifiable information to be used to train AI systems.
How we protect it: secure systems, unique staff logins, encryption, and audit trails that record who opened your file. If a serious breach ever affects you, we will tell you.
How long we keep it: at least 7 years after your last visit, or until age 25 for children, as the law and professional standards require.
Marketing and education: with your consent we may send health education content and practice news. Every message includes a free opt-out, and your image or scans never appear in promotional material without your separate written consent.
Your rights: see your records, ask us to fix mistakes, opt out of My Health Record uploads, and complain if we get it wrong.
-
We upload your reports to your My Health Record by default because it helps any doctor treating you, anywhere in Australia. If you would rather a report was not uploaded, just tell our staff before your examination.
