Dr Adela Tashkent founded Core Radiology to build a practice where radiologists feel supported to do their best work and healthcare providers have a reporting partner they can trust.
A specialist radiologist, Adela leads Core’s direction, growth and clinical standards while continuing to practise as a consultant radiologist. Staying involved in clinical work keeps her connected to the decisions, pressures and relationships that shape patient care every day.
A background in medicine and technology
Before studying medicine, Adela completed an Honours degree in Mathematical and Computer Sciences at the University of Adelaide. She went on to complete her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at Flinders University and undertook her radiology training in South Australia.
Her background informs a thoughtful approach to technology and how we work with partners, with a focus on making clinical work easier, supporting sound decision-making and improving how radiology services operate.
Leading a team she works alongside
Adela leads Core’s clinical team and is the main point of contact for its radiologists. She takes an active role in welcoming new colleagues, supporting professional development and discussing complex cases. She oversees clinical governance, credentialling and quality assurance, with an emphasis on constructive feedback and clear reporting standards.
For healthcare providers, Adela offers a direct connection to Core’s clinical leadership. She works with their teams to understand reporting requirements, discuss clinical needs and shape services around the patients and referrers who depend on them.
Her vision is a modern Australian radiology practice where flexibility and professional connection support high-quality care. As Core grows, she is focused on maintaining an environment where colleagues can ask questions, contribute ideas and take pride in their work.

Director of Operations & Partnerships
Matthew leads the operational and business side of Core Radiology, working alongside Dr Adela Tashkent to build the services, team and partnerships that support the company’s growth. His focus is on making Core work well for the radiologists delivering care and the healthcare providers relying on them.
His background spans operational leadership, technology-enabled service delivery and complex programmes across Federal Government and the private sector. He has worked with multidisciplinary teams to introduce new services, improve ways of working and coordinate delivery where clear responsibilities and sound governance matter.
At Core, Matthew turns the company’s plans into day-to-day operations. He oversees service development, workforce planning, systems and workflows, commercial relationships and operational governance. This includes coordinating radiologist onboarding, client credentialling and reporting equipment, as well as establishing the policies, responsibilities and support arrangements behind the service.
Matthew works closely with healthcare providers to understand their reporting needs and how Core can fit into their existing operations. He leads client partnerships and relationships with technology and professional service providers, from early discussions through to implementation and ongoing service improvement.
Working alongside Adela, he helps ensure that business decisions support Core’s clinical standards and that the team has the resources to deliver on its commitments. His approach is practical: listen to the people doing the work, keep processes clear and address problems early.
As Core develops, Matthew is focused on building a sustainable Australian business and preparing for future international opportunities. He wants growth to bring a better service, with responsive support, dependable systems and people who are easy to work with.
His approach to Core is straightforward: build strong foundations, solve real problems, and grow with purpose.
